If you’ve been to our surf camp in recent months, you’ve probably noticed that we’ve added a few things to the Witch’s Rock experience. One of those additions that we’re particularly stoked about is that we are now brewing our own beer high in the hills near Arenal Lake and bringing it down to the beach. The arrival of our first signature microbrew to the shores of Tamarindo was a long awaited moment for us. Wow. What a great week it was for waves here in Tamarindo. Everywhere from Playa Avellanas to Playa Grande got their fair share of great waves. The Guanacaste micro-climate provided some pretty incredible conditions for this time of year. Tamarindo Beautiful day out on the beach Wednesday with clouds moving through. Waves were not huge but there was the occasional chest high set. Most were between the knees and waist with good shape. Fun little longboard waves the kept up throughout the day. The winds stayed offshore for almost the entire day making for nice clean conditions. As of now (Thurs 8:45am) the waves are still pretty small but there are some nice rights and lefts out near the River Mouth. We may see the waves spike up today to around shoulder high. Waves have been in the waist to shoulder-high range for the past couple of days. We’re looking at a decreasing swell for today and tomorrow before a bump that is supposed to arrive on Sunday evening into Monday morning. Stay tuned! ...read post
