Surf Report for Tuesday, April 19th 2011

Grande (pictured)

Started today at Palmeras at around 7am.  With the tide rapidly receiding there was not much there although there was a couple of decent sets with good winds.  Only problem being it was just closing too fast for any substantial rides.  Most waves were in the waist high range.

For the afternoon we came back to Tamarindo for what turned out to be a great afternoon.   While winds did not do much to help out the conditions, staying mostly onshore and then turning side shore later towards sunset, wave shape was holding up surprisingly well.

We were seeing shoulder high sets early in the afternoon that gradually became head high as we reached sunset.  On the main break the left into the river mouth seemed to be going for the whole afternoon.  The water temp for the last week or so has been amazingly warm.

For the next couple of days the swell in going to degrade but only slightly with between shoulder and chest high possible.  Winds and conditions will continue to be good in the morning but the afternoons have been holding up as of late  so be sure to check out the current conditions even if the winds less than favorable.

High Tide for Wednesday will be at 4:05am/4:24pm

with Lows at 10:06am/10:38pm

Time of Post 6:55pm Local Time.
