Obama will arrive in San Jose Friday afternoon, fresh off of morning meetings in Mexico City, Mexico. Obama is scheduled to then meet with Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla to discuss issues related to the two countries. All Shook Up – Costa Rica Earthquake Experiences from Witch’s Rock Surf Camp

I’m writing this blog post just a few hours after a big earthquake hit Costa Rica at 8:42 AM this morning. All of our guests and staff at Witch’s Rock Surf Camp and Volcano Brewing Company are OK.  We had only minor damage – a few broken windows so far, a few bottles broken in the bar.  We are feeling very lucky! All items will be donated to CEPIA, a great non-profit organization that helps impoverished kids and families in our area. New York to Costa Rica: JetBlue Announces Direct Flights to Liberia

  The typically low-cost airline JetBlue recently announced its 70th regularly scheduled destination, and this is one that we’re particularly excited about. Beginning on Nov. 17th of this year, JetBlue will begin offering 4 weekly direct flights from JFK Int’l in New York to Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica. The Liberia airport is just a short drive away from Witch’s Rock Surf Camp, so this is clearly big news for all of the WRSC family and friends.
