Surf Report for Friday, May 6th 2011

Headed down south today at noon to see what was in Avellanas.  Unfortunately the wind was blowing pretty heavy onshore.  The size was decent, in the shoulder high range with a few set waves reaching just overhead, but there was not much to be had in the way of organization.

With the wind onshore there was quit a bit of chop as well.  Towards high tide things did start to clean up a bit but really not that much.  Right now, at the Tamarindo main break, we are seeing some waist to chest high waves.  Winds are steady offshore and there is great shape and clean conditions.

For Saturday we should see the swell dropping into the chest high range.  The winds will again be staying offshore in the mornings with onshore in the afternoon. Conditions will be clean to fair.

For Sunday conditions will be about the same as Saturday with the winds being slightly less favorable in the afternoon bringing in some more serious chop around sunset.

High Tide for Saturday at 5:25am/5:35pm

with Low Tide at 11:19am/11:46pm

Time of Post 5:37pm Local Time.
