Surf Report for Friday, February 18th 2011 (Afternoon/Evening)

Pithaya

Winds were on shore making waves a bit mushy for the afternoon.  Size and shape would have been there if not for the  wind.  We saw some shoulder to head high sets that were quickly squashed by the wind.

Anything coming in over head in Pithaya closed out in a hurry.

Tamarindo

Wave were very good in the afternoon with the wind staying offshore all day here in Tamarindo.  Some barrels could be had in the early afternoon.  Size was waist high and up around 3pm and slowly tapered off until sunset.  Some sets coming in overhead were quick to close out but the majority of smaller set had great shape.

For tomorrow look for the similar conditions here in Tamarindo with the swell begining to drop in the afternoon just before high tide.  Winds should be about the same moving side shore/ offshore.  Predictions are for clean conditions in the morning and fairly clean in the afternoon.

High Tide for tomorrow 3:12am/3:37pm

Time of Post 6:29pm
