Surf Report for Friday, June 10th 2011

Playa Grande (Las Palmeras)

Another overcast morning with waves that more than made up for the grey skies.  We rolled up to Palmeras about 7:45am with the tide pulling in the conditions looked a little mixed up.  But there was some decent sets rolling through so we decided to stick for a while.

By 8am the break had organized itself and there were some awesome waves rolling through.  The winds were moving offshore but so light as to be barely noticeable.  The winds did eventually kick sideshore but they did not pick up any strength so they did not have any effect.  While they Main break in Grande saw a bit of a crowd we had the entire beach to ourselves for the entire 4 hours we were there.

We cruised back to Tamarindo just in time to grab some lunch at noon.  Conditions at the Main were not throwing the way Grande was but there were some great long board waves coming in all the way through sunset.  Winds for the rest of the day remained near dead leaving the conditions in water near glassy.

For Saturday predictions are calling for waves in the head to over-head range in the AM coming out of the SW and W.  Size should drop off slightly in the afternoon, loosing the W contribution and gaining some swell from the S.  Winds should be calm to moderate for the day staying mainly offshore to sideshore.  Conditions should be clean to fair for the day.

High Tide for Tomorrow 10:17am/10:51pm

Low Tide at 3:46am/4:35pm

Time of Post 8:15pm Local Time
