Tamarindo
Today was fun if not a bit tumultuous. Things got started with clean and glassy waist to chest high waves with very light offshore/sideshore winds. The River Mouth started firing early in the AM shooting lefts and rights.
Everything quickly changed as the size showed up. Once the waves reached head high on the main break they began to close out, leaving only a few long rides to be had. As the morning wore on, the River continued to throw the occasional bomb with some long waits in between.
As the winds began to shift onshore around 9am some chop entered in the water. On towards noon the wind began to press down the waves a bit which seemed to help them from completely shutting down. The size came down to around chest high but with a whole lot of water behind it.
Conditions remained pretty much the same through the late afternoon. Sunset we saw the winds once again calm and the water cleaned up. Finishing off the day, some head high and under showed up with clean ridable shoulders in between the River and the Main.
For Tuesday predictions are for the swell to hold at head high plus coming out of the SSW with a S contribution. Things should once again be glassy in the early morning with the winds beginning to shift onshore around 9am. The afternoon shows some onshore winds starting out moderate early and laying off as sunset draws near. The swell will most likely begin to gradually taper off as the week goes on but not too drastically.
