Tamarindo
Today was an amazing day here in Tamarindo and perfect for the final day of competition in the 1st Annual Interscholastic Surf Fest.
At mid morning we were seeing waves from chest high to a foot or so overhead at the Main break. Winds were strong offshore and conditions were fair with only a bit of texture in the water.
In the early afternoon the waves did get a little less consistent and somewhat smaller but there were still the overhead sets rolling through on a fairly regular basis and the river mouth continued to work even with a substantial amount of water.
The winds picked up as we progressed further into the afternoon and by 2pm the winds were nothing short of screaming.
We were seeing waves 1-3 feet over the predicted size for today which is always nice to see!
For Monday we are looking at a pretty significant drop in swell. With only waist high for most of the day dropping to less than waist high by sunset.
Unfortunatley the winds are expected to pick up tomorrow which may be problematic considering the speed at which they were working today.
Conditions for the AM should be glassy with some fair conditions around mid day and returning to glass by late afternoon.
Congratulations to all the competitors in the Surf Fest and thanks for giving us some great shots for the surf report today!
High Tide for Monday will be at 3:37am/3:58pm
with Low Tide at 9:40am/10:10pm
Time of Post 6:46pm Local Time
