Surf Report for Tuesday, May 17th 2011

Playa Grande

We reached the break this morning around 11:30 and the wind was pushing pretty hard onshore.  The waves were coming in with some pretty good size,  chest high with some head high, but with a lot of chop in the water and very little organization.  Around high tide it did clean up a little but was still pretty sloppy.

Back in Tamarindo the waves were still pretty small although in the late afternoon you could feel the swell building with the waves beginning to push consistent chest high.  The winds stayed consistently light and onshore with some moderate chop in the water for the day.

Tomorrow is we are suppose to see the swell arrive in full.  With overhead for more south facing beaches.  Tamarindo is a bit tough to predict but with that much swell we should be seeing somewhere in the range of shoulder to head high plus.  Winds will most likely be running sideshore in the AM and switching onshore in the PM.  Clean to fair conditions are predicted for the morning with choppy for the remainder of the day.

Hight Tide for Tomorrow 2:58am/3:16pm

Low Tide at 8:58am/9:31pm

Time of Post 9:15pm local time
