David started working for Witch’s Rock Surf Camp when he was still a teenager. Now at 26 he’s one of the best surf guides and instructors in Tamarindo, and father to a beautiful one-year-old daughter.
David grew up in Liberia and started coming to Tamarindo and Coco as a kid to play in the waves. He began bodyboarding and skimboarding, and learned to surf around 14.
David quickly became obsessed with surfing. Spending as much time as possible in the water.
Eight years ago he moved to Tamarindo to start his career as a surf guide, and he’s been progressing ever since.
Many of his best memories have come while working at Witch’s Rock Surf Camp. He has made friends with guests from all over the world, and shared some great waves and adventures.
David has learned English while working at the Camp, and that has opened up his knowledge of the world and respect of other cultures.
Before David became a dad, he would spend almost all of his free time surfing. He has camped in the National Park at Witch’s Rock by himself, in order to fully experience nature and surf the empty waves before anyone else showed up.
David is deeply grateful to Joe and Holly for the opportunity to work at Witch’s Rock, and all of their support over the years.
He would like to thank all of the great guests that he has met, especially the ones who come back over and over and keep supporting the Camp, and making his job possible!
These days, the most important for him is to keep working and to be the best example to his daughter.
