If you’ve been to our surf camp in recent months, you’ve probably noticed that we’ve added a few things to the Witch’s Rock experience. One of those additions that we’re particularly stoked about is that we are now brewing our own beer high in the hills near Arenal Lake and bringing it down to the beach.
The arrival of our first signature microbrew to the shores of Tamarindo was a long awaited moment for us. Proudly given the name ‘Witch’s Rock Pale Ale’, our new beer means more to us than just another option on our menu. What it really is, and what we hope it becomes for any and everyone who touches their lips to our Pale Ale, is a true taste of Pura Vida.
The story of how our Pale Ale and its sister brews arrived to our taps is a unique one that goes back decades. It’s a large part of what makes the beer special, and with that in mind we want to share a post that was recently written by the founder of Witch’s Rock Surf Camp, Joe Walsh, that tells the tale of what inspired us to open one of the only Microbreweries in Costa Rica:
Volcano Brewing Company: finally doing that microbrewery thing- By Joe Walsh
