Costa Rica opened it’s borders to the entire World on November 1st 2020 and the guest uptick has got our spirits soaring. Furthermore, there is no negative COVID test required for entry so all you’ll need to get into Costa Rica is travel insurance (we recommend Sagicor) and fill out the Health Pass 48 hours before your departure flight. Even though Costa Rica has opened its boarders completely, there were only 36,044 arrivals by air in November 2020 as compared to 191,346 in November 2019. Regardless, it’s been amazing seeing familiar faces from the USA and Canada and we’ve maintained about 60% – 80% occupancy at our beachfront site which our guests have actually loved.
Quick Tip: Ask for room upgrades when you arrive to camp. Chances are we’ll have a some premium rooms available. We’ll happily hook you up.
Many future and potential guests are wondering what protocols we’re taking at the camp in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Here’s what you can expect:
- 50% van occupancy for surf tours and airport transportation.
- All employees in surf shop and restaurants with masks
- Mandatory mask for everyone in vans.
- Mandatory masks for everyone in surf shop
- Seminars being held in open air restaurant (mask optional).
- Hand washing and sanitizing stations throughout camp.
- Temperature checks daily to our staff.
- Social distancing (we are not enforcing this, but please use your best judgment on site).
- Bars and restaurants in Tamarindo close at 9pm.
We are taking the pandemic very seriously because we want to keep our staff and guests safe. We’re running the surf camp as normally as possible, all things considered.
