8 Booking Tips for an Epic Surf Trip this 2020

Booking a vacation can be tricky. There are so many variables to consider when traveling to another country and you never know if you’re getting the best deal..Plus, no matter how much you plan, you can never predict what Mother Nature and King Neptune have in store. Lucky, our seasoned reservations team will streamline the process for you with straightforward, honest information to get you surfing World Class Waves for a reasonable price.

Here's 8 helpful booking tips for your 2020 surf trip.

1. Book early for holidays

If you’re thinking about Spring Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years, you should probably stop reading and call us now. These are the busiest times of year and we will 100% book up several months before. If you’re the type of person that doesn’t mind a little fiesta, then planning a trip during these peak times will make for an unforgettable trip.

2. Book last minute for discounts

Tragic breakup? Won the lottery? Chasing an epic swell? Whatever your scenario is for booking a last minute trip, we will hook you up if we have some rooms left. Our reservations team gets pretty desperate if we have a room to sell less than 7 days out. You may have to deal with some room switches, but it will be totally worth it. Most times, we do have rooms at our sister location, Pueblo Dorado Surf Hotel up until a week prior.

Always with a smile on her face, Xiquiu

3. Don’t underestimate September and October

Yes, September and October are the rainiest months of the year. But what does that actually mean? Check out a previous blog, How Rainy is Rainy Season to get some statistics on what you can expect. In a nutshell, you can expect blue skies in the morning and afternoon showers. Also, we offer the best promotion of the year, Free Room Fall.  Regardless off the rain, the South Pacific is pumping swells

4. Double Check Passport

Do not make this rookie mistake. Check your passport before pulling the trigger on the trip. The worst part is, you usually don’t figure out your passport is expired until it’s too late. If you are traveling with kids under 18, their passport expires every 5 years. For adults 18 and older, our passports expire every 10 years. Check your passport and make sure its valid for 6 months after your trip date.

5. Book 6 months in advance for Premium Room

Looking to go BIG in one of our Sunset Balcony Rooms, Penthouses , or even Joe’s Tiki Hut? Make sure you’re inquiring 6 months in advance. These are the first rooms to go because they have incredible ocean views and a little extra square footage.

6. Book flights and room at the same time.

Don’t click “purchase” on the flights until you are certain there is a room for you. Our best advice is to check flights, find a week that works for you, give us a call at 1-888-318-7873 to hold the room, book the flights and then call us back to book the room. Taking these steps will prevent any forehead smacking.

7. Familiarize yourself with our Deals & Specials page

We offer some pretty killer promotions throughout the year. We won’t give all our secrets away here, so check out our deals and promotions page and you can start safeguarding your greenbacks on your search for the greenroom.

8. Just Call us!
