Witch's Rock Surf Camp

Wave Conditions:
- South Swells: Steady south swells throughout the month, bringing waves from chest to head-high, sometimes even bigger on good days.
- Varied Conditions: Waves are generally punchier and a bit trickier than the dry season, with fast sections and ramps, perfect for intermediate and advanced surfers looking to push their limits.
-Wind Patterns: Light offshore winds in the morning, turning onshore by late morning, with a chance of winds flipping back offshore after afternoon showers.

Beginner-Friendly: Tamarindo is a great spot for beginners in October. The slightly north-facing position and offshore island help reduce the size of those bigger south swells, offering more manageable conditions. If the main break feels too intense, no worries—we have plenty of alternative, beginner-friendly spots ready to go.

- Morning: Mostly clear with light offshore winds.
- Afternoon: Showers starting around noon, with cooler air and occasional offshore winds returning post-rain for cleaner conditions.

Wave Conditions: The first week of October brought us the classic rainy season surf here at Witch's Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo. Mornings have been gray and rainy, but the waves are consistently solid. Most days, the surf has been medium-sized, perfect for intermediate surfers looking to sharpen their skills. We did have a few larger sets rolling through, pushing everyone back to shore, but those willing to paddle back out found great waves.

Weather Impact: While there’s been some cross-shore wind, causing a bit of bump on the wave faces, the surf has been fun and rideable. You’ll have to work to find the cleaner sections, but when you do, the waves are totally worth it.

Best Times to Surf: The best sessions have been early in the morning and late in the afternoon, with shifting tides and swell offering some great surfing windows. It’s not perfect, glassy surf—but for those who don’t mind a little challenge, it’s been a rewarding week of waves.
